food and drink

We want to show how supporting local food producers and growers is a positive move towards sustainability and our best option for the future:  fresh foods, organic where possible, homegrown if practical, less packaging, fewer food miles, breaking down preconceptions about standardisation, valuing home cooking, return to the hearth, and health.

The Slow Food Movement www.slowfood.com ,Common Ground www.commonground.org.uk and others have made huge strides in moving away from more and global to less and local - be inspired by them and take heed of their advice. It's just that we're still all in the stranglehold of the multinational supermarket chains and need kick-starting into effecting change at grass roots level. If public opinion can be swayed, we will be doing just that at this event.

So if you are a believer, and a producer or grower of  high quality local food, if you’d like to be there and you have not already reserved a pitch, please contact us as soon as possible. Click here to download application form - it's still not to late to get publicity in our Event Programme if you book before 19thMay - and come and help feed the 5,000!
